Social Studies 8D  -  No class today.  Reviewed the "Deciphering the Implicit Message" worksheet, and the "Self -reflection Checklist" sheet.  Discussed whether messages were "balanced".

Social Studies 8E -  Discussed a balanced perspective. Students created a title and a museum placard for a sample drawing. This should be completed for next class. 

Social Studies 9E - Discussed the previous day's reading and annotation exercise. Began to read page 173.

Social Studies 9G - Students completed and analysis of a potential immigrant based on the point system.

Social Studies 8E -  Reviewed definitions for explicit/implicit messages and symbolic messages.  Students analyzed pictures for perspective, point of view, and symbolism.  Students are to complete the self-reflection sheet (front and back) for next class.

Social Studies 9E - Reviewed the point system, and the information on page  172.  Presented the skill of "Annotation".  Students are to read the Immigration handout, and make annotation notes for the next class.

Social Studies 9G - No class today due to Junior Achievement presentation.
